Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children offers support services in recognition of children's and parents' emotional health during hospital stays. Our services include:
- Child Life Services helps ease children's fears of hospitalization, exams and procedures through educational playtime activities.
- A Ronald McDonald House on campus provides a home away from home for the families of our young patients.
- My Friend's House offers children their own special programs, including a support group for those whose parents or siblings have cancer, and a bereavement group for those who have lost a parent to cancer.
- Specially trained volunteers are available to spend time with children in the hospital particularly at times when parents or family are unable to be there.
