We are fortunate to have a dedicated and enthusiastic corps of volunteers. Every day of the year, volunteers of all ages and backgrounds contribute their time and skills to make life better for our patients, visitors, staff and community. All volunteer services are offered free of charge to patients and their families.

Our volunteers make a difference!
The extra care and services that our volunteers provide contribute to the healing environment of Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children and the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute. Since the opening of the original hospital, volunteers have contributed millions of dollars to the hospital and its related programs and millions of hours of volunteer service.
Our volunteers also benefit—by learning new skills, making new friends and taking pleasure in knowing they are helping others. In fact, recent research shows that people who volunteer often enjoy better health and a greater sense of well-being. They also enjoy additional benefits, too, like free parking, discounts in the cafeteria and gift shops, free annual flu shots, recognition events and access to Inova health and wellness programs.
