About the course and presenter

Daniel V. Papero, LCSW, PhDAnxious Responses to Change: Overcoming Obstacles to Sustaining Functioning

Presenter: Daniel V. Papero, LCSW, PhD (Bio PDF)

Change is a fact of life in families, organizations and businesses of any size and structure.  The best laid plans for pursuing opportunities and for addressing problems stir anxious reactions between people that can impact adaptation, purposes, and even profits. Anxious reactions to change are predictable and common obstacles to sustaining progress toward the goals of an organization or business.  Oppositional conflict when coordination is needed most; disconnection between units that must rely upon each other; polarization instead of solving the problem; overwhelmed and underfunctioning employees; and increased symptoms in highly responsible leaders or their families impact purposes and profits.

While Systems thinking, derived from the study of the human family, can lend a hand to the efforts of people to surf the anxious waves of change.
