  • Chairman, Department of Neurological Surgery, Washington University, in St. Louis
  • Former chairman of the American Board of Neurological Surgery
  • Former chairman of the Residency Review Committee for Neurological Surgery
  • Past president of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American academy of Neurological Surgery and the Society of Neurological Surgeons
  • Served as member of the Advisory Council of the National Institute for Neurological Diseases and Stroke


Dr. Dacey’s clinical practice focuses on the surgery of cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and brain tumors.  His research concentrates on vascular biology of intracerebral microcirculation.  He has extended more than 189 invited lectures nationally and internationally, has authored over 200 publications and holds 36 patents.
