Dr. Matthew Levine is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He joins Inova Medical Group with over 12 years of clinical experience. He has fellowship training and special interests in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, shoulder injuries and replacement, knee ligament and cartilage injuries, and rotator cuff injuries.
Prior to joining Inova Medical Group, Dr. Levine worked in a private practice in Leesburg, VA. He has previously served as an assistant team physician at Duke University and North Carolina Central University and was part of the medical staff for the World Figure Skating Championships in 2003. In addition, since 2000, he has served as part of the medical staff for the annual Penn Relays, the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States. After competing in the 400 meter hurdles at the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and coaching Division 1 track and field at the University of Pennsylvania for seven years, Dr. Levine decided to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery so that he could continue to work with athletes throughout his lifetime.
A native of Chattanooga, TN, Dr. Levine currently resides in McLean, VA with his wife and two children. In his spare time he likes to snow ski, swim, play golf and spend time with his family.
