Loring Flint, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Flint is a major contributor to the overall strategic direction and priority setting within Inova Health System and leads the broad areas of clinical strategy, effectiveness and performance. His areas of focus include patient safety and clinical quality, evidence based clinical pathway development, regional clinical integration and growth. He also participates in system-wide clinical leadership selection and development, as well as the development of Inova's Accountable Care Organization, electronic medical record, electronic health record and ambulatory electronic health record platforms.

Dr. Flint has more than 30 years of healthcare experience. He spent the last 20 years at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., where he most recently served as Chief Medical officer for Baystate Health and President of Baystate Medical Practices. Prior to joining Baystate, he held leadership positions in emergency medical services and ambulatory and physician support services during a 10-year career at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

Dr. Flint received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Medical Science and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago.
