Marshall Ruffin, MD, Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Ruffin is a physician specializing in General Internal Medicine and Informatics. He leads Inova Technology Services, which include IT and Communications, Medical Records, Clinical Engineering, Informatics, Analytics, Telemedicine and the Program Management Office of Inova.
Dr. Ruffin obtained his B.A. from The University of Virginia and his MD from Harvard Medical School, as well as MPH in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina and MBA from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.
Dr. Ruffin’s experience in information technology as, most recently, the Chief Technology and Health Information Officer at the University of Virginia Health System as well as the Chairman of the Health Information Technology Standards Advisory Committee (HITSAC) of the Commonwealth of Virginia and Vice-Chairman of the state-wide ConnectVirginia health information exchange. Dr. Ruffin's experience uniquely aligns him with Inova’s mission of improving healthcare delivery, vision of personalized medicine and service to the diverse community Inova serves.
