Do you know that blood group (or type) O is the "universal donor"? Patients of any blood type can receive group O blood. Type O must be on-hand to treat trauma patients. The demand for type O blood is greater than the supply. Though about 45% of the North American population has type O, more than 50% of the patient transfusions are type O.
Inova Blood Donor Services invites you to give blood at our five donor centers or at these community blood drives. Donors with appointments are given priority but walk-ins are welcome. You may also schedule an appointment online. A photo ID is required to donate. Please allow one hour for your donor visit. Blood drive details are subject to change.
