Cristin Crutcher, RN2

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children

• Cristin has been a nurse since 2001.

• She has worked at Inova since 1998 and has been an Inova nurse since 2001.

• In high school, Cristin wanted to be a doctor. However, after attending an LPN program, she learned she was more interested in nursing. She wanted to have close contact with patients and their families. She wanted to provide "hands on" care. She quickly enrolled in nursing school directly after high school. Cristin enjoys Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children for many reasons: It offers the largest pediatric intensive care unit in Northern Virginia; she works with dedicated and hard working nurses; the fellowship program helped her learned how to do her job as best as she can. Inova's tuition reimbursement and flexible scheduling allow her to pursue educational growth and spend time with her 3-year-old son.

• Cristin spends time with her family, friends and 3-year-old son when she isn't at work. She also ran the Marine Corps Marathon last year and is training for this year's race as well.
