Pediatric Nurse Internship/Fellowship and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Fellowship

These programs provide the opportunity for nurses to develop competence in assessment and nursing management of pediatric patients in an initial phase of didactic classes, skills labs and clinical experiences with a preceptor focusing on the specialty area. After completion of this initial phase, a development plan is implemented with clinical expectations gradually increased as experience is gained. All interns and fellows will complete a PALS course during the first year of employment. Fellows working with hematology-oncology patients will complete an oncology course and a bone marrow transplant course. Fellows and interns working with children who have congenital heart defects will complete an ECG course.
