If you have wondered what it is like to be a nurse, physician, therapist, or technician, join us for an exciting, week-long summer camp that gives you a first-hand, behind-the-scenes look at healthcare professions!
We are pleased to offer two different levels of Inova Healthcare Exploration Camp.
First level Healthcare Exploration Camp is designed specifically for students ready to begin 7th, 8th or 9th grade.
Sample Schedule:
- 8 am - Learn how to take blood pressure
- 9 am - Labor and Delivery visit
- 10 am - Pulmonary Lab visit
- 11 am - Friends and Family CPR class
- 12 - Lunch
- 1 pm - Helicopter/ Flight Nursing visit
- 2:30 - End of the day
We are offering three sessions of Level 1:
Session 1: June 27-July 1
Session 2: July 11 - July 15
Second level Healthcare Exploration Camp is for students who have previously attended Inova's first level camp and are interested in exploring further.
Sample Schedule:
- 8 am - Advanced Skills Lab Session
- 10 am - Pathology Lab visit and skills session
- 11:30 am - Lunch
- 12:30 pm - Cardiac Cath Lab visit and skills session
- 2:30 pm - End of the day
We are offering two sessions of Level 2:
Session 1: July 25 - July 29
Session 2: August 1 - August 5
We are not offering a third level of Healthcare Exploration Camp in 2011.
Each session of camp can accomodate 15 students. Students will be placed via a lottery system. You will be notified of your acceptance no later than May 20. All other students will be placed on a wait list. Once accepted, your tuition payment is due no later than June 15.
