Applicants are limited to those individuals who have completed an accredited psychiatric residency, which thereby allows eligibility for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Individuals who have completed residency programs in family practice or internal medicine may also be considered.

A completed application, along with two letters of recommendation from supervisors familiar with the applicant's clinical work, will be necessary. A visit to Inova Fairfax Hospital will include meeting members of the program faculty and will allow the applicant to observe and better understand the program. Following this process, each applicant will be notified of the status of his or her application.
