Scientific Partnerships

The Inova Translational Medicine Institute (ITMI) is establishing scientific collaborations with academic partners. By funding related research in academic institutions, ITMI hopes to integrate a level of scientific innovation that is missing in most biotechnology companies. These collaborations may focus on specific diseases of interest, development of bioinformatic tools, new technologies or other aspects of translational research.

We will utilize our vast patient population as a source of tissues for genomic-scale research, empowered by a comprehensive electronic health record system. This system is integrated by an Oracle-powered engine designed to integrate, structure and track data for FDA submission, supported by a network of academic and industrial collaborators, and high-end systems biology and other integrated analytical methods.

Our goal is to ignite the discovery and validation of novel prognostic, diagnostic and therapeutic targets for a variety of complex human diseases.
