About Gordon H. Hafner, MD

Dr. Gordon Hafner is board certified in General Surgery. After finishing his general surgery residency at George Washington University, he completed a Surgical Oncology fellowship at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He joins Inova Medical Group with over twenty years of clinical experience. He has a special interest in management of malignant melanoma, soft tissue sarcomas, and gastric tumors, as well as complex hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction.

Dr. Hafner currently serves as Chief of the Section of General Surgery at Inova Fairfax Hospital, and is the Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

A native of New England, Dr. Hafner currently resides in McLean, Virginia with his wife Nancy Hafner, MD. In his spare time he likes to build wooden boats, as well as other handmade woodworking projects.
