About James W. Leiphart, MD

Dr. James Leiphart is specialty care physician board certified in neurological surgery at Inova Health System. He joined Inova with nine years of surgical and clinical experience. He has a special interest in management of epilepsy and complex pain syndrome.

Dr. Leiphart is the Vice Chair of Education for Inova Neurosciences, Director of  the Inova Neurosurgery Residency Program, and serves the Department of Neurosciences at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Medicine Inova Campus where he holds the title of Associate Professor. Dr. Leiphart chose to practice neurosurgery because there is so much potential to make a difference utilizing the surgical approach for patients dealing with complex brain disease.

A native of Muncie, Indiana, Dr. Leiphart currently resides in Arlington, VA.
