Reason for coming to Inova Fairfax Hospital:

“I chose Inova Fairfax Hospital for my first year residency because of the wide range of opportunities they have available. Inova's status as a level 1 trauma center ensures I will be learning the best practices in critical care from highly knowledgeable clinical pharmacists. Additionally, I was impressed with the option of an elective transplant rotation which will allow me to further explore my interest in the area. Also available are a teaching certificate through the VCU School of Pharmacy and the chance to participate in the clinical on-call program. I have no doubt that these opportunities will give me the knowledge and direction I need to pursue a PGY-2 in the coming year."

I chose to complete my residency at Inova Fairfax because they offer many rotations and have a knowledgeable and dedicated clinical staff. The wide range of specialty rotations in pediatric and adult care will enable me to pursue a PGY-2 and direct me in my clinical career.”

“After working as an intern and completing most of my fourth year clinical rotations at Inova Fairfax Hospital, I quickly developed an interest in critical care. Training at a facility that is a large, community teaching hospital and had an established pharmacy residency program was important to me to help me accomplish my professional goals. With 6 ICUs, a 90 bed Emergency Department and the area’s only level 1 trauma Center, Inova Fairfax Hospital has endless opportunities to expand my clinical skills and knowledge in my areas of interest.”

“I chose Inova Fairfax Hospital because of the new PGY-2 in emergency medicine. Having done my PGY-1 here at Inova, I was accustomed to the high level of quality and teamwork the entire medical team displays. The Emergency Department is a level 1 trauma center; therefore, this will be a great learning experience because I will get to be involved with a variety of patient cases. With the new program starting there is a high expectation to get involved with all facets of patient care. I am excited for this opportunity and to maximize my knowledge of emergency medicine.”
