Neonatal Intensive Care Breastfeeding Specialist
This course prepares Registered Nurses, Lactation Consultants, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and other health care personnel to function as a breastfeeding expert in the hospital NICU or SCN. We focus on the skills necessary to assist a mother to initiate a milk supply by pumping, begin breastfeeding in the NICU and continue after discharge to home. An experienced faculty of 10 lactation consultants, neonatologists and dieticians will present this cutting edge information.

Inpatient Breastfeeding Specialist
This course prepares registered nurses and other health care personnel to function as a breastfeeding expert in the hospital inpatient setting. We focus on the clinical skills necessary to assist mothers to initiate breastfeeding and problem solving for common difficulties. The role of hospital policies and procedures in supporting or hindering breastfeeding will also be discussed.

Outpatient Breastfeeding Specialist
This course prepares lactation consultants, pediatric nurse practitioners, registered nurses and other health care personnel to handle breastfeeding situations from hospital discharge to weaning. The focus will be on the skills needed to assess and recommend treatment for problem situations. The course faculty of more than ten experienced lactation consultants and pharmacists will provide the latest in research and practice guidelines.
