AirCare Medevac

HelicopterWhat is AirCare Medevac?

AirCare Medevac, which is owned an operated by PHI, Inc., contracts with Inova Health System as their preferred provider for medical helicopter transport service. PHI, Inc. is one of the largest and most respected helicopter transport providers in the nation. The state-of-the-art helicopter is an intensive care unit in the air, specially designed to transport patients from trauma scenes or from one hospital to another.

Who Travels With the Patient?

Your family member or friend is being cared for by highly skilled health care professionals. An experienced critical care nurse and a nationally registered paramedic are always on board to monitor the patient and to provide emergency treatment during the flight.

The air medical crews maintain competencies in all aspects of pre-hospital emergency patient care. AirCare Medevac partners with other organizations to provide teams for specialty transports and transplant resource centers. PHI Air Medical-Virginia has been accredited since 1994 by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS).

Our accreditation recognizes the fact that we adhere to the highest standards and are in consistent compliance with accreditation standards..
