Program Description

Inova's Advances in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine program is a full day comprehensive symposium that offers top‐quality education and the opportunity to talk directly with expert faculty. This symposium provides current and practical information, in addition to hot topic discussions, covering the latest in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Target Audience

This program is designed for physicians in the medical specialties of pulmonary medicine, critical care, infectious disease, internal medicine and family practice. It will also be of interest to respiratory care practitioners, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and other allied health care professionals interested in pulmonary medicine.

Statement of Need

There is an urgent need to improve the delivery of evidenced-based care in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. This will help align physician practice styles, keep physicians abreast of important advancements in the field, result in improved physician alliance with evidence-based practices, and improve quality performance measures.

  • Review diagnosis, staging, and treatment options in COPD.
  • Identify the importance of brain dysfunction in critically ill patients.
  • Employ appropriate actions to assist patients and families at the end of life.

This symposium will present cutting edge advances in pulmonary medicine, as well as the opportunity to consider current standards of care, as well as recommendations for optimizing patient care. A prestigious international teaching faculty has been assembled to promote dialogue regarding major aspects of pulmonary and critical care medicine. We are very fortunate to present this panel of exceptionally talented speakers to bring the educational program to life.

The goal for this conference is to update the practicing pulmonary and critical care physician in topics that will improve patient care.
