Advances In Management and Treatment of Concussion

Conference is designed to provide current information about concussion diagnosis, management,
treatment and prevention along with the latest advances in this field.  
           


Featuring

Dr. Christopher Giza, Associate Professor of Pediatric Neurology and Neurosurgery at UCLA and Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher, Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of Michigan NeuroSport at the University of Michigan.

Drs. Giza and Kutcher are the coauthors for the American Academy of Neurology’s summary of evidence-base guideline update: “Evaluation and management of concussion in sports”, released on March 18, 2013.

Additionally, Dr. Mark Proctor a Pediatric Neurosurgeon at Boston Children’s Hospital will be speaking on concussion prevention. Dr. Proctor is on the board of directors for the ThinkFirst Foundation, a Spinal Cord Injury and Brain Injury prevention program.

  • A certificate of attendance for 6.0 hours is given upon completion of the full-day program, enabling participants to register their credit with the appropriate licensing boards or organizations
  • This program has been submitted to The Commission for Case Manager Certification for approval to provide board certified case managers with 6.5 clock hours
  • CEUs, Contact Hours or Certificates of Attendance will only be available at the end of the conference and with completion of a course evaluation

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

A certificate of attendance for 6.0 hours is given upon completion of the full-day program, enabling participants to register their credit with the appropriate licensing boards or organizations.

The Inova Learning Network of the Inova Health System is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Virginia Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval Committee, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 6.0 Contact Hours have been applied for nurses.

Approval for continuing education credit has been submitted to the Commission for Case Managers Certification. CEUs, Contact Hours or Certificates of Attendance will only be available at the end of the conference.
