We strive to provide you with exceptional service and to make your donation experience as convenient and positive as possible. We hope you will consider becoming a loyal blood donor and establish a regular donation schedule.
- Platelet donors may give every 14 days
- Whole blood donors may give every 56 days
- Double red cell donors may give every 112 days
Minimum age
- 16 years old with permission of parent or legal guardian. Please complete consent form in English
or Spanish.
- 17 years old and older requires no additional consent
Minimum weight
- 110 pounds
Required identification
- A picture ID such as driver's license, employee ID, or credit card with your photo on it
- You cannot donate blood without first showing a picture ID
Basic health requirements
- Feel well and healthy on the day you donate
- No history of hepatitis after age 11
Medication guidelines
- You may donate while on most medications, including blood pressure and cholesterol medications
- Do not donate if you are taking an antibiotic
Recent tattoos or body piercing
- One-week waiting period when procedure is performed in a professional setting with sterile, single-use equipment
Dental procedures
- 24-hour wait after routine procedures such as cleaning or fillings
- 72-hour wait after a root canal or oral surgery
Recent childbirth
- Six-week wait after vaginal delivery
- Six-month wait after a cesarean section
Recent travel
- You may donate blood after trips to most destinations
