Children's Support Group (Life with Cancer)
Designed to address the unique concerns of children ages 5–12 who have a family member living with cancer. Meets each Tuesday for eight weeks, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Registration is required: 703-208-5623.
"Good Grief" (Life with Cancer Children's Bereavement Support Group)
Designed to help children ages 5 to 12 cope with the loss of a family member to cancer. Meets each Thursday for eight weeks, 5 to 6 p.m., Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Registration is required: 703-208-5623.
Breast Cancer Support Groups
Two support groups provide education and support to women coping with all aspects of the breast cancer experience. Both groups meet the fourth Monday of each month at Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Please note: when speakers are invited, they will present from 6 to 7 p.m., and all are welcome to attend. Registration requested for first time attendees: 703-858-8857.
- 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
For women newly diagnosed, making decisions about treatment or starting treatment for the first time. - 6:30 to 8 p.m.
For women finished with treatment, who have a recurrence or who have metastatic breast cancer.
Creating and Connecting
A fun and relaxing art therapy group for patients, family and friends touched by cancer. Meets the second Saturday of each month from April through November, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Registration is required: 703-858-8857.
Gentle and Restorative Yoga
A gentle and restorative yoga class intended to help anyone diagnosed with cancer. The class focuses on increasing flexibility, strength and circulation while improving concentration, promoting relaxation and reducing stress. Meets each Thursday for eight weeks at Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. All participants must complete and sign a Participant Information sheet and waiver form before attending the first class. Registration is required: 703-858-8857.
Look Good — Feel Better
A program for women coping with the cosmetic side effects of chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Meets every other month from 6:45 to 9 p.m. at Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Registration is required: 703-858-8857.
Man to Man
A support group for men coping with prostate cancer, and their families. Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Loudoun County Senior Center, Cascades Market Place. Registration is not required.
Meditation and Guided Imagery Group
A support group for patients, family and friends touched by cancer. Learn about and practice the art of meditation and guided imagery. Meets the last Tuesday of each month, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Registration is not required.
Partners in Care (Life with Cancer)
A support group for any person who supports a person with cancer. Meets the third Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Registration is not required.
Reiki
Reiki can help you rebalance and recharge your body's energy systems while you relax to soothing music. Sessions are the fourth Thursday of each month, 6:45 to 8 p.m., Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Class size is limited and registration is required: 703-858-8857.
Spiritual Support Group
A support group for patients, family and friends touched by cancer. This group helps individuals draw upon their own spiritual resources to help cope with the cancer experience. Meets the third Tuesday of each month, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Registration is not required.
Women's Group
This support group, open to any woman with a cancer diagnosis, meets the first Wednesday of each month, 1 to 2:30 p.m., Inova Loudoun Hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Registration is not required.
