Interventional Oncology at Inova Alexandria Hospital
VIDEO: NanoKnife™ in the news

Our team was the first in the Washington, DC metro area to use Nanoknife™ –
a minimally invasive cancer treatment which implements technology known as irreversible electroportation to precisely target and kill hard-to-reach tumors at the cellular level.
The ultra-precise nature of Nanoknife™ allows our interventional radiologists to treat tumors that in the past would have been complicated or virtually impossible for surgeons to operate on due to their location. Meet our team |

Our team was the first in the Washington, DC and northern Virginia area to provide a multidisciplinary center for interventional oncology. For over a decade, specialists and sub-specialists have taken the individual knowledge and skills of our cancer experts and created a strong team dedicated to patient care.

We combine convenience and specialized care
In one convenient visit our hepatobiliary patients have the opportunity to meet with all the cancer specialists involved in their care. Patients can be evaluated by their hepatologist, surgeon, medical or radiation oncologist and interventional radiologist during a single visit. Individualized treatment recommendations and test results can be discussed during the same session.
