Craig Cheifetz, MD
Craig Cheifetz, MD, is medical director of the Inova Corporate 360° Program. In addition, Dr. Cheifetz is assistant dean of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Inova Campus, and director of undergraduate medical education for Inova Health System. He also is co-chief of the Internal Medicine Section, Department of Medicine, Inova Fairfax Hospital.
In fall 2010, Dr. Cheifetz was selected as the chair-elect for AAMC's Group on Regional Medical Campuses, which represents the interests of regionally located medical schools in the United States and Canada.
Dr. Cheifetz received his internal medicine training at Georgetown School of Medicine. He has been an integral part of Inova Fairfax Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children and its medical staff for more than ten years. His primary interest is as a clinical educator, having completed both the Stanford Faculty Development Facilitators program for Clinical Teaching and the Harvard-Macy Program for Leaders in Medical Education.
He was instrumental in the formation of the successful faculty development program within the Department of Medicine at Inova Fairfax Hospital and has trained more than 122 clinicians in the area of clinical teaching.
Dr. Cheifetz is a nationally sought-after lecturer in the area of clinical teaching skills. He has received numerous awards and in 2012 was presented the Top Young Internist Award by the American College of Physicians for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
