Taking Control of Your Diabetes- TCOYD
Inova Diabetes Center is assisting with sponsoring this one day conference and health fair at the Washington Convention Center on Februaury 11, 2012. TCOYD is a not-for-profit organization that has been educating and motivating diabetes communities in cities around the country since 1995. They have assembled an all-star cast of diabetes experts for a day that will ignite motivation, offer hope and change your life with diabetes forever! Inova Diabetes Center works with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) on various programs throughout the year.
Step Out to Fight Diabetes
Each year Inova Health System and its employees are proud to participate in the ADA's "Step Out to Fight Diabetes" fundraising walk, which raises millions of dollars nationwide to find a cure for diabetes.The local 2011 event was October 22 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. You can show your support for diabetes research, information and advocacy efforts by giving a monetary donation or becoming a team member. Tour de Cure
Inova Diabetes Center is partnering with Type 1 Friends to participate in the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure. The tour is a bike ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Over the past 20 years, the Tour de Cure has raised millions of dollars to support the mission of the ADA: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. American Diabetes Month
Inova Diabetes Center reminds you that November is American Diabetes Month. Watch for special promotions sponsored by the American Diabetes Association to bring added awareness to diabetes and the continued efforts to find a cure for this disease.
Supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
Join the Inova diabetes team for its annual "Walk to Cure Diabetes," which will be held on May 20, 2012 at the National Conference Center in Leesburg. This annual event supports the mission of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications through ongoing research. Diabetes Day Camps
The 2012 Inova Diabetes Center Day Camp will be held June 27 at The EDGE located at George Mason University. Check back in mid February for the brochure with more information and details on how to register. Learn more about Inova's and other local and regional camps for children with diabetes.
