Support Groups

At times, living with diabetes feels overwhelming because it impacts so many areas of daily life. Emotional support is a vitally important part of diabetes management. Inova Diabetes Center sponsors free support groups and also provides information about other available resources. 

Inova Diabetes Center – Adult Support Group

This free support group is for people with diabetes and their families. It meets on the second Tuesday of every month at Inova Diabetes Center - Fair Oaks from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For support group details, please contact us at 703-391-4762 or rosemary.martin@inova.org.

Insulin Pump Support Group

This free support group is for people with diabetes on an insulin pump.  It meets the second Monday of every other month (from September 2012 ) at Inova Diabetes Center - Fairfax from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Call 1-877-511-GOAL (4625) for more information about this support group.

Type 1 Friends Support Group 

Join Type 1 Friends and build friendships through diabetes. Parents, children with diabetes and siblings are all welcome. Adults and children alike will be able to network and gain valuable information. Parents, learn about babysitters and caregivers, school and other advocacy issues, family coping skills and more. Children will benefit from education, gain autonomy and, most important, have fun!
