Overview

The Inova Telemedicine Program utilizes the latest in telecommunications and information technologies to provide instantaneous care for patients regardless of their location. The program's capabilities extend to patient care at any geographic location and also play a key role in Northern Virginia's emergency preparedness.

The Inova Telemedicine Program improves patient health by applying electronic communications technology to patient care delivery, research and education. We leverage the latest in state-of-the-art technology to extend clinical expertise to any remote site. Today Inova Telemedicine technology is utilized in nearly 25 different locations throughout Virginia.

Among the first to provide remote care

AACN Beacon Award for Critical Care ExcellenceEstablished in 2004, enVision eICU® was one of the first teleICUs in the country. This technology allows expert physicians and nurses to evaluate and manage treatment of critically ill patients in 71 beds from a remote location, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes six intensive care units in four hospitals and disaster response access to 14 regional hospitals.

enVision eICU is also the first teleICU program in the country to be awarded the American Association of Critical Care Nurse's prestigious Beacon Award for critical care excellence.
