Inova Heart and Vascular Institute is a national and international innovator in the development of the Maze surgical procedure, currently considered the gold standard for curing A-fib. We are one of the largest surgical atrial fibrillation centers in the nation and one of only a handful of cardiac centers to offer a minimally invasive version in addition to a stand-alone version.
Ongoing research benefits both current and future patients
Our unique follow-up program meticulously monitors patients’ quality of life months and years after surgery. The data are used to evaluate the risks and benefits of the Maze procedure, tailor medications and modify treatments for future patients.
