Using the latest in telecommunications and information technologies, we can provide instantaneous care for patients, regardless of their location.
Inova Telemedicine Institute improves patient health by applying electronic communications technology to patient care delivery, research and education. Inova Telemedicine Institute leverages the latest in state-of-the-art technology to extend its clinical expertise to provide patient care in any location.
Established in 2004, enVision eICU® was one of the first teleICUs in the country. This technology allows expert physicians and nurses to evaluate and manage treatment of critically ill patients in 134 beds from a remote location, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes nine intensive care units in five hospitals.
Another valuable Inova telecommunications service is the popular HealthLink TelAssurance Program for heart failure patients. This remote access service lets patients use secure phone and Internet connections to check in daily about how they are doing and receive quick adjustments to their treatment plan if needed.
Current projects under development include Telestroke, telepsychiatry, home-health telemedicine, and remote acute care pediatrics.
