Inova Transplant Center is proud to offer kidney and pancreas transplant. As the area's most comprehensive transplant center, we offer the unique blend of cutting edge technology with traditional values of caring for and about people. The program was established in 1992.

Kidney transplantation occurs when a kidney is donated by deceased donation or living donation. In the case of living donation, laparoscopic nephrectomies are performed. This technology decreases donor patient length of stay and enhances donor recovery.

Facilities and staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide consultation and immediate care for transplant patients. The program emphasizes a continuum of care and support for the patient and family from the initial referral through transplantation and postoperative extended care.

The kidney and kidney/pancreas program at Inova Fairfax Hospital offers both pediatric and adult patients with end-stage disease the best option for a normal and healthy life free from dialysis and related complications.
