Nargues Weir, MD, FCCP, joined Inova Advanced Lung Disease Program in 2008. She received her medical degree from George Washington University and completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at George Washington University Medical Center.
She completed her fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Yale University and returned to the Washington, DC, metro area in 2002. She entered private practice before returning for sleep medicine training at Tufts University in 2007.
Currently she is co-director of research development for the NIH-Inova Advanced Lung Disease Program. She is primarily responsible for the development of phase 1 and 2 research studies and provides continuous research collaboration between Inova and the National Institutes of Health’s NHLBI. Her research interests include pulmonary arterial hypertension, interstitial lung diseases and asthma.
Dr. Weir is a member of several professional societies, including the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She is a fellow of the ACCP.
