Area of special interest: pediatric neurosurgery
Dr. Alexander Post evaluates and treats pediatric neurosurgical disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. These include traumatic injury, perinatal hemorrhage and hydrocephalus, tumors and vascular malformations, craniosynostosis and Chiari malformations, spina bifida and myelomeningocele and surgery for seizures. He is now seeing patients at Inova Pediatric Specialty Center I at Prosperity Medical Center.
Dr. Post serves as assistant clinical professor of neurosurgery at George Washington University, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and assistant professor, Department of Neurosciences, Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Medicine, Inova Campus.
He completed his general surgery internship at Fletcher Allen Health Care of the University of Vermont School of Medicine, his neurosurgery residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of New York University, and his pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Children’s Memorial Hospital of Northwestern University. Dr. Post’s areas of special interest include craniofacial disorders, neurotrauma and medical instrument design.
