The PICU at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children is the only one of its kind in Northern Virginia. Our multispecialty level I unit provides advanced technology and intensive care for critically ill and injured patients from birth to age 18.
Staffed 24 hours a day by a multidisciplinary team of board-certified intensivists, pediatric intensive care nurses and critical care professionals, our 16-bed PICU also serves as the postoperative care unit for the many pediatric surgery services available at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, including cardiac surgery, craniofacial surgery, neurosurgery and spinal surgery.
The PICU is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including specialized diagnostic and monitoring equipment.
