This program is designed to assist individuals who are experiencing balance problems or any of the following symptoms:
- Dizziness
- Wooziness
- Nausea
- Light and/or noise sensitivity
- Vertigo or ringing in the ear(s)
Evaluations are performed by an occupational or physical therapist and are offered at many Inova hospitals and physical therapy locations to further assess and localize problems. Evaluations are based on:
- Symptoms and how they limit independence
- Occulomotor assessment (eye movements)
- Physical measurements of muscle strength, range of motion, posture, coordination
- Balance
- Movements including standing, walking and rolling in different environments and how they affect symptoms
