Optimizer II
The Optimizer's System is designed to treat patients with moderate to severe heart failure.
The Optimizer's te chnology is based on a new method known as Cardiac Contractility Modulation (CCM), in which non-excitatory impulses are delivered to the heart during a period of time called the absolute refractory period (ARP). Unlike a pacemaker, the CCM signals do not initiate a new heart beat. Rather, these signals are intended to enhance the strength of the heart. The ability of CCM signals to enhance heart strength is currently under investigation.
Treatment with the Optimizer II is intended to be additive to the benefits of standard pharmacological treatments for heart failure.
