Inova Obstetrics and
Thank you for your interest in Inova Fairfax Hospital’s Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency program. We initiated our newly RRC approved OBGYN residency training program in 2013 and successfully recruited our inaugural Class of 2018 with 6 interns (PGY1s) for 2014-2015. Training outstanding physicians in women’s health at our institution is not new. In fact, Fairfax Hospital has been training OB/GYN residents from other university programs for over 35 years.
In designing our new residency program, we have created a learning environment that will not only provide a comprehensive clinical experience, but also an individualized curriculum which will focus on the strengths and interests of each individual resident. As such, all residents will progress through a competency bases and Milestones focused curriculum.
Frequent evaluations will be an integral part of the learning process, and close mentorship with faculty will be central to the four years of training. Our goal is to train every Obstetrician Gynecologist in a supportive, structured and inquisitive environment so that graduates of this program will be able to pursue any aspect of the field of Women’s Health.
This website is structured to give you an introductory understanding of our hospital, our department and our residency training program. I sincerely appreciate your interest in our OB/GYN program and I look forward to answering any questions you might have.
