Provides support to any parent who is raising a child with special needs, regardless of the disability or age. The group has been in existence for over 12 years, with the Yahoo listserv used for over 6 years.  The moms offer a wealth of information and support on the numerous issues involved in raising a child with special needs.  We chose the name Challenged Moms since many of our "charter members" have a child who participates in Springfield Challenger Little League. The group of moms of children with special needs meet quarterly, usually at a restaurant in the Springfield/Northern Virginia area. There is also a Yahoo Group, where parents can post information, ask questions and offer support.
