Northern Virginia Healthy Kids Coalition (NVHKC) is a grassroots coalition of local organizations including Inova Health System, area school districts and others joined in a common goal: to promote better health for children of all ages.
Today the need is especially profound as we work together to fight childhood obesity. Northern Virginia has one of the highest percentage increases in childhood obesity in the nation. It's a serious problem, with one in four of our children and adolescents overweight or at risk of becoming overweight.

Inova Healthy System also has a Let's Move the Needle initiative. This consists of business, community and government leaders in Northern Virginia who have joined a regional coalition to actively engage the Northern Virginia community with information about the important topic of childhood obesity.
