Hospitalization can be a difficult time. Sometimes patients can feel anxious, fearful and lonely. Inova Alexandria Hospital recognizes that the healing process involves all the dimensions of a persons life. The director of Pastoral Care and the staff of volunteer chaplains, including clergy and lay ministers from the community, are available to provide emotional and spiritual support for patients and families during hospitalization. The chaplain is a member of the healing team who invites meaningful and healthy use of an individuals spiritual beliefs and resources in the midst of crisis and illness.
