The Department of Medicine at Inova Fairfax Hospital utilizes a highly motivated hospitalist staff, community primary care physicians, and specialists to provide its well known and well regarded teaching experience. Its team of clinician educators includes multiple physicians who have received the highest level of teaching awards from many of the surrounding medical schools. A large number of its teaching faculty meet monthly to continue to grow and enhance their teaching skills. The department’s commitment to education is further acknowledged through its development of its own faculty development program for clinicians who want to learn more about becoming an expert educator.
