GetWellNetwork™
GetWellNetwork™ is
a dynamic, interactive television platform designed to enhance the healing and
coping process for patients and health care providers through technology,
communication
, and connectivity. Patients at Inova Fairfax
Hospital for Children and Inova Fairfax Hospital Women's Center access the
GetWellNetwork from their bed using a remote control or a wireless keyboard.
They can use the service to give hospital administrators and caregivers instant
feedback about their care, fill out patient satisfaction surveys, access patient
education, e-mail their family and friends, surf the Web, watch
movies-on-demand, or create a personalized Web page. Providing GetWellNetwork to
patients makes Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children and Inova Fairfax Hospital
Women's Center leaders in using innovative technology to provide quality
care.
Chaplaincy Services
Chaplaincy volunteers are available to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and their families during their stay at Inova Fairfax Hospital/Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children. Chaplaincy volunteers can be identified by their photo ID badges and green jackets. Clergy chaplains are on-call to respond to medical crises 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Services for the Disabled
We continually strive to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Virginias with Disabilities Act regarding the rights of all disabled individuals. Disabled patients or visitors who encounter any physical or communication barrier during their time at the hospital or who believe they have been denied access to the hospitalÕs full array of services because of their disability, should contact Patient Relations at 703-776-3663. A patient representative will respond to these concerns as soon as possible.
Interpretation Services
Language and sign language interpretation services are available to assist patients and their families. To request an interpreter, talk with the patient's nurse or with a staff member in the department where a procedure or outpatient appointment is scheduled.
Social Work
These services provide comprehensive counseling, support, information, referral and discharge planning services, and support group information for patients and their families. Call 703-776-3201 for information.
Jacob D. Zylman Health Sciences Library
Public Hours:
5 - 8 p.m., Monday - Friday
9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday
The Jacob D. Zylman Health Sciences Library is located at the top of the escalator in the atrium. The library houses an extensive collection of medical books and journals and special collections of material for patients and families. Although materials may not be checked out of the library, visitors can use the material there. A coin-operated photocopy machine is available. Call 703-776-3234 for information.
