Community Services
Along with its hospital-based and outpatient programs, Inova Health System's outreach includes active participation in the community it serves.
- Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children's Care Connection for Children is a part of a state wide network that helps families coordinate community and education resources with medical expertise to ensure that children with special health care needs can reach their maximum potential.
- The Inova Pediatric Center provides primary health care and wellness education for children of low-income families, with more than 13,000 health care visits per year for underinsured or uninsured children in Fairfax County annually.
- Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children is the lead agency for the Fairfax County SAFE KIDS Coalition, a volunteer organization whose mission is to reduce injuries among children.
- Partnership for Healthier Kids, a collaborative community program initiated and directed by Inova Health System, works through the schools to ensure that children receive primary health care, as well as preventive health and safety services and programs.
- Inova HealthSource provides a variety of health education and wellness programs for children and parents in the community. These programs include courses on babysitting basics, junior medic and infant CPR.
- Reach Out and Read ® is a national, non-profit organization that promotes early literacy by making books a routine part of pediatric primary care. Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children is proud to jointly sponsor this program with the Reach Out and Read National Center located in Boston.
