The program provides evaluation and treatment in one central location at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children so parents need not spend time and energy going from specialist to specialist over many weeks, months or even years.
The unit has individual examining rooms including complete facilities for hearing tests. In addition, because the program is located at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, the team has access to the hospital's sophisticated diagnostic and treatment capabilities.
The program's team is available to evaluate patients who are already undergoing treatment by a specialist and who may need evaluation only by particular members of the team. Any medical or dental practitioner is welcome to attend the team meeting or work with the team members on behalf of their own patients.
A full written report is sent to the parents and referring physicians after each patient's visit.
