Pediatric Neurosurgery Department
The Pediatric Neurosurgery Department at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children offers a comprehensive array of services for the evaluation and treatment of cranial and spinal nerve disorders affecting infants, children and adolescents. Our expanded program includes multidisciplinary services for neuro-oncology, spina bifida, craniofacial and spasticity.
Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children is located on the campus of Inova Fairfax Hospital. The two facilities share the latest technology, including frameless stereotactic neuro-navigation equipment. Our expertise using neuroendoscopes for third ventriculostomies enable many patients with an obstructive hydrocephalus to avoid or eliminate a shunt. In addition, our expertise with programmable valves lessens complication rates usually seen with conventional shunts.
Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provide state-of-the-art care for our patients, from birth to adolescence. From congenital malformations of the central nervous system to bone marrow transplants, our skilled multidisciplinary teams provide the highest quality service possible coupled with compassionate care. In addition, Inova Regional Trauma Center, Northern Virginia's only Level I trauma center, supports pediatric trauma patients who require neurosurgery expertise.
Our Pediatric Neurosurgery Department is conveniently located in the Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children Specialty Center, at 8505 Arlington Boulevard, Fairfax, Virginia. Ample free parking is available.
