Inova Health System
Foundation
touches the lives of thousands of area residents by supporting the goals
of the community-based, not-for-profit Inova Health System. Through this
partnership, donors to the Foundation last year contributed more than $5 million
to improve the health of friends and families in Northern Virginia.
Inova Blood Donor Services
Blood must be available when needed for patients whose lives depend on
it. More than 200 blood and platelet donations are needed every day, year-round by patients at the 15 hospitals served by Inova
Blood Donor Services. Blood and platelets help many people, including
trauma patients, surgery patients, newborn babies, cancer patients and
transplant patients.
Host an Event
Children in the hospital can benefit greatly from seeing a special performance
in the hospital. Click here for more information
on planning an event or coming to the hospital to do an activity.
Participate in "Change for Children"
Young people under the age of 18, individually or in groups, are
encouraged to collect change in their own unique way for the benefit
of the young patients whom receive our care.
Suggested collection ideas: request donations rather than gifts for a birthday, donate lemonade stand proceeds, look under your couch cushions for loose change. Be creative!
Change can be converted by a counting machine at your bank or grocery store. Please mail a check, payable to Inova Health System Foundation, along with this form.
Each time a participant collects and donates $25 to "Change for Children," he or she will receive a FREE Panera Kids Meal certificate.
Contribute to IFHC by Using GoodSearch as Your Search
Engine
GoodSearch is an Internet search engine, powered by Yahoo!, that donates
money to charitable organizations, such as Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children.
For every search you perform using GoodSearch, one cent is donated to IHFC. GoodSearch also works with large companies -- including Target, Toys R Us, Best Buy and others -- to donate a percentage of every online purchase when accessed through the GoodSearch site.
How do I use it? Go to www.goodsearch.com and look for the "Who Do You GoodSearch For?" field. Type in Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, and that's it! IHFC will be your default charity of choice when you search from that computer. Now you can search the Web and raise money for IFHC at the same time. You can even make GoodSearch your default home page.
Donate Toys
We have a very busy playroom, which means our toys are always getting
lots of play. That leaves us needing to replace many of our toys. If you
are interested in donating toys to the pediatric patients, we ask that
you please follow our guidelines. If
