Accreditations, Awards and Honors
- Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the group that evaluates hospitals across the United States.
- The Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) surveyed the rehab program and was awarded a full three-year accreditation (2002 - 2005).
- The Virginia State Department of Health - IMVH was found to be in substantial compliance by the state survey team.
- Cardiac Rehabiltiation received its program certification after a survey from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The certification recognizes the program for meeting or exceeding industry standards in cardiac programming.
- Nuclear medicine and Mammography successfully completed the Virginia State inspections with no deficiencies.
- Our MRI unit received accreditation from the American College of Radiology.
- Inova Joint Replacement Center met and exceeded the Medicare and Mid-Atlantic Medical Services, Inc. (MAMSI) criteria as a "Center of Excellence" for joint replacement. The center is well above the national average for both discharge-to-home and length-of-stay.
- In 2003, Inova Mount Vernon Hospital was a winner of the Large Business Star Award for 2002 by the Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce. The hospital was recognized for its campaign "Service Excellence Straight From The Heart" which established an inpatient satisfaction rate of 85 percent and maintained outpatient satisfaction at 98 percent for 2002.
- Inova Mount Vernon Hospital won Top 100 Hospitals in the Nation for Orthopedics.
