Pain Management Services
The Pain Management Services department at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital includes chronic pain management, pre-operative assessment of outpatients, surgical intervention, post-operative management of patients and patient discharge teaching. All patients receiving anesthesia require cardiac monitoring, frequent nursing assessment, and therapeutic intervention.
A full range of therapeutic interventions with or without fluoroscopy may include the following procedures:
- Epidural blocks
- Facet blocks
- Selective nerve root blocks
- Discograms
- IDET procedures
- Neuroplasty and neurolysis procedures
- Pain-pump medication replacements/refills
- Permanent implantable pumps
- Spinal cord stimulators
