Inova Health System Ranked in Top Ten of Most Integrated Health Systems by Healthcare Data Firm Verispan

Report Evaluates More Than 500 Health Systems
for Services, Access and Integrated Technology
Falls Church, VA – Inova Health System has been named in the top 10 of the nation’s 100 most integrated health systems. This year’s honor marks the tenth consecutive year that Inova Health System has been recognized in the annual report issued by Verispan, the nation’s premier ratings system for quality in integrated healthcare networks (IHN). The report appeared in the February 4 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine. 
 “We’re honored to be recognized for the strides we’ve made to become a national leader in both patient care delivery and the system integration that help facilitate that care,” says Mark Stauder, chief operating officer, Inova Health System. “Having a nationally recognized integrated system benefits everyone we serve by providing a true continuum of care that eliminates inefficiencies and redundancies.  The survey ranking is also a testament to the excellent care provided by our outstanding staff and physicians.”       
 Verispan’s 2008 listing identifies the top 100 IHNs out of 570 non-specialty, local and regional networks in the United States that meet critical success factors. The ratings are based on Verispan's IHN Rating SystemTM, which evaluates each network's ability to operate as a unified organization in each of eight categories: integration, integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, financial stability, services and access, hospital utilization, and physicians.
