Dr. Najarian is a specialty care physician, board certified in orthopedic surgery, and holds a certificate of added qualification in the treatment of sports medicine injuries. He joins Inova Medical Group with over 11 years of clinical experience and specializes in treating disorders of the knee, shoulder, and elbow, as well as all sports-related injuries. He has particular interests in the treatment of knee cartilage and ligamentous injury, shoulder instability and elbow injuries in the throwing athlete, and rotator cuff repair.
Most recently Dr. Najarian served as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Ohio State University where he was also a team physician for the Ohio State University athletics. He has also served as an assistant team physician for USA Rugby and the Columbus Clippers, the Triple A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians.
While in Columbus, Dr. Najarian was also head team physician and medical director for Capital University, responsible for the care of all 16 varsity teams. During fellowship training, he served as an assistant team physician involved in the care for the Cleveland Browns (NFL), the Cleveland Indians (MLB), and the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) professional teams.
A native of New York, Dr. Najarian now resides in Potomac, Maryland with his wife and three children. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family in his free time.
