Meet Our CyberKnife® Coordinator
Elizabeth Heneghan, BSN, CLIN III, CBCN
Elizabeth Heneghan, BSN, CLIN III, CBCN, is the CyberKnife coordinator at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Elizabeth has over 20 years of nursing experience, spending the last five years within the radiation oncology department at Inova Fairfax Hospital. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Colorado, Denver, CO. She has a certificate in radiation oncology and is a certified breast care nurse. Elizabeth has extensive critical care nursing experience as well as interventional radiology and gastroenterology care. She also served as a senior flight nurse (lieutenant) in the U.S. Navy.
Her goal is to provide comprehensive care for complex oncology patients undergoing radiation therapy. In her role as CyberKnife coordinator, she works with each patient from time of consult through treatment and follow-up, including patient education, management of side effects and necessary phone triage.
Elizabeth also works closely with the other members of the patient's care team to ensure seamless delivery of care, allowing the patient’s main focus can be on recovery.
